City Council Heated Over Cleveland Fire Department
Some red flags from an audit of the Cleveland Fire Department have city council members and the firefighters union taking action.
“This is, clearly not good for the division, the division of fire, this is not good at all,” said Councilman Michael Polensek, who attended the Public Safety Committee meeting on Wednesday at Cleveland City Hall. Polensek, along with other members of the council, is furious over the findings of a recent audit of the department. Mayor Frank Jackson ordered the investigation during the summertime after noticing an increase in overtime.
